Our History
Vmedia opened its doors in 1997, bringing together a team of experts from related fields to work on what was then "new" media. It was a gutsy move to start a web business then, but the team including Vern, Nanou and Amanda, (along with two other brave souls at the time) had a strong belief in the web, and knew that we could make it work.
We originally set up shop in an office at 27 York Street, Adelaide, in the creative hub of Adelaide's East End. The building has since made way for an apartment complex, but we are still going strong, with operations now on Rundle Street.
Nanou has a degree in fine art, and has worked for many years in graphic design, web authoring, perl programming, PHP, MySQL and flash animation.
Vern and Amanda had been at FirstMedia for a number of years, working respectively as a graphics application specialist, and an account manager/consultant.
Robin joined the team in 1998 with his extensive skills in programming HTML, Javascript, Perl and PHP together with a background in visual arts, including management of an art-gallery web-server.
In 2000, Rodney joined our team with a Diploma in Multimedia, a knack for making things work, and a solid background in customer service.
Holly joined Vmedia in April 2001. She has a degree with a double major in Multimedia and Professional Writing. Holly now works for Vmedia on a part time basis, having gone on to study Psychology.
Ryan joined the team in 2005. He holds a degree with honours in Computing and Multimedia. Ryan now works for Vmedia in a consultancy role, as he discovered working with us he has a passion for teaching, and has gone on to study for a Bachelor of Education.
Nancy joined the team in 2007. She too holds a degree in Computing and Multimedia as a programmer/developer, and has a keen interest in programming and web development.
Andrew Joined the team in March 2008. He holds a degree in Multimedia and Print to Web digital publishing.
Alex joined the team in February 2009. He is currently still studying for a Degree in Computing and Multimedia, and is working on a part time basis while he completes his studies.
Vmedia has been a hive of enthusiastic activity since its conception, developing leading edge web solutions, keeping our clients happy, and making our mark in this exciting media.
