Business Innovations

A growing number of businesses are recognising efficiencies in using the internet to facilitate their day to day business.

The internet is primarily an information sharing tool, with up to the minute data available anywhere in the world at any time of day. That information can be products, orders, data, statistics, anything that you need to share with the people you do business with.

Vmedia have developed several business to business information sharing website applications to help people work together better, give better service to their clients, and create efficiencies which save time and money.

Legislative Register case study image

Case Study: Legislative Register

Situation:
DWLBC are responsible for administering all aspects of the Acts and Regulations which are within the Dept of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation portfolio. The number of people and agencies involved was making the management of reviews to the Act quite unwieldy, as well as making record keeping relating to changes in progress, ability to contribute ideas to the process, and management of timeframes for completion or review and absolute nightmare. Additionally, the manual process of generating reports to record the process was quite time consuming.

Solution:
Vmedia created an online Legislative Register (LegReg) tool to facilitate the formal management and administration of Acts and associated Regulations for which DWLBC is responsible. The LegReg provides a one-stop, sophisticated, effective, efficient and user-friendly approach for accessing information about each Act. It provides a tool to improve accountability and support existing functions already being undertaken by each of the divisions and contact people.

The LegReg also provides formal procedures and processes that allow for timely forward planning, consistency and efficiency in administering the relevant Acts and Regulations, through the generation of reports, which identifies due dates for outputs, reviews of Acts and Regulations and the status of these.
