Vmedia turn 10

Vmedia are pleased to have held a party for staff and clients on the 24th of August this year to celebrate turning 10 - a massive milestone for any company, but a true rite of passage for an IT company.

Mayor of Adelaide Michael Harbison was kind enough to give a supportive speech, shared with us his vision for the future, and presented Vmedia with a gift from the Adelaide City Council.

Thank you to all of our fabulous clients and supporters who have helped us to achieve our current success, we look forward to the next 10 years of putting the web to work for you.

About Me Site Launched

Vmedia were honoured this week at the launch of a new website for Life's for Living, called "What I'd like you to know about me!" The website, launched by Minister for Disabilities Jay Weatherill, provides a resource to help families share information with those who provide care or services to their child.

It records and relates information on a child's history, disability, needs and milestones, and integrates it with personal information about the child's unique personality which helps paint a more complete picture and positively influence the way that others see and support the child. Life's for Living CEO, Lis Burtnik, and Research and Development Officer, Victoria Wright, were generous in their praise of Vmedia's role and contribution to the project, and singled out Ryan, Rodney and Amanda for special thanks on the night. Congratulations to all concerned in this successful and valuable project.

February 2007 Amazing race huge success

After months of planning, and with the support of many valued sponsors, the Amazing Race in Adelaide came to town on the 25th February.

86 teams competed for more than $7000 worth of prizes in a fantastic event around the icons, quirks, and favourite places in our city. The event was very much enjoyed by the teams who participated, and raised more than $37,000 for a very worthy cause.

Vmedia's role in the race planning and execution was a major contributor to the success on the day, and we also congratulate Deaf SA and volunteers for a fabulous and exciting event.

As long term sponsors of Deaf SA, Vmedia are usually called upon to provide website updates, posters and flyers. This year we had a pivotal role in the planning and execution of this mammoth event. DeafSA Event Manager, Ceri Horner, says "The input from Vmedia has been extremely valuable to DeafSA. Being a charity we have very limited resources and Vmedia's project manager, Amanda Hassett, has brought many fun and creative ideas to our race as well as giving much of her time to help us ensure that our event will be a huge success".

"People are talking about the Fringe on TalkFringe. They are blogging the Fringe, snapping the Fringe, rating the Fringe...BankSA has provided a sleek online forum for Fringe-goers to compare notes. There's a photo gallery and library of postcards to send to your friends. Very much in the spirit of the Fringe."
