Vmedia do most of our development in an open protocol environment, which is the most compatible, robust and cost effective way to publish websites. This environment includes Unix, Linux, SUN and SGI servers, and uses applications such as Apache, PHP, SQL and MySQL. This environment is not as vulnerable to attack as the alternative Microsoft web environments and applications. It is more cost effective, more flexible and is widely recognised and used by web professionals – so there is a lot of support and optons for you.

Most HTML sites these days are constructed using templates. Vmedia use and recommend Macromedia Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver supports style sheets, provides professional standard HTML code, and gives you options on how your site will be updated. This is the industry standard software, is very widely used, and works well with the types of applications that we are likely to need when building sites.

Vmedia usually create templates, publish them to our password protected development server for testing and approval, prior to deploying on the live server environment provided by your ISP Host. The Hosting and Domain Name Service arrangements are usually carried out prior to this time. Vmedia can facilitate this by providing you with sound advice to ensure the environment is suitable and the service is what you are looking for.
